One look is enough for you to be convinced. They are here to show the city who the mistresses of its styleare. The divas who drown it in colours to the very edge of its cosmopolitan self.
Fashion Week nestled comfortably in New York and spread out the décor of its 7-day vanity fair. The juiciest trends and the most current fashion hits are marching through the city labyrinth and are hinting at what we are going to wear between the two seasons. One foot in the summer, the other one – in the autumn.
The palette is starting to change before we even realise it. Pale pink is getting heated to cyclamen. Soft beige is softly flowing into cognac and mustard. Trench coats and blazers are becoming a must and a nice little shield against the changing weather and the fluctuating temperatures.
High heels are taking turns with knee-high boots. But sandals and trainers are also sneaking their way through. It seems like the city is totally confused which season it is and what it feels like wearing.
Lavish jewellery pieces are out hunting for attention. Tiny sunglasses are not hiding much from our eyes but they are perfect at demonstrating that they remain a trend that continues to be hot regardless of the month.
When trousers are high-waisted, full of pockets and tapered at the ankle, they conquer a safe place as the main character in the autumn wardrobe. The street style princesses of New York are showing us that we can wear them with minimalistic crop tops, white shirts, polo shirts, delicate knitwear, leather jackets and… what else not.
The front rows of the season’s finds are quick to show us two-part suits combining shorts and a jacket. We are beckoning at them enticingly. Because we smell that we can combine them with mind-blowing high heels, as well as with everything that is down-to-earth, such as moccasins or totally sports shoes.
And because details can’t kill us, New York made it clear – bucket hats and huge princess diadems will continue being a key highlight in the fall/winter 2019 territory.
We definitely liked the street style scene of the Big Apple. Let’s see what pictures the streets of the other fashion capitals are going to welcome us with!
