We continue with the French theme. And quite not accidentally so. Paris recharged us with romance, but Cannes promises us sophistication and splendour. And it is exactly in this part of the year when it welcomes the international film elite for its most glamorous event – the film festival.
For 70 years now, the Mediterranean pearl has been transforming into a stage for the best of the film industry. And in 2017 the prestigious event promises constant star shine – both in the film selection, and among the celebrities in the jury. Pedro Almodovar is the president of the jury of feature films, while Uma Thurman – the one in the section, titled Un Certain Regard. Let us also not forget about Claudia Cardinale, who is the face of this year’s edition. What is more, in the competition about feature films, there are two Bulgarian titles.
But let us go back to Cannes. It also has its leading role with the perfect Mediterranean climate, as well as the well-measured luxury and style, dictated by French traditions. The narrow cobbled streets, the flowers, and that typical Provençale atmosphere, imbued in the air. There are no strict words about it, only senses.
As part of Côte d’Azur, Cannes is one of the most popular resorts along the French coats on the Mediterranean. And, obviously, one of the symbols of international film. But here is how we saw it just a day before becoming again the global film capital.
