Yet another dimension of our love for Italy. Despite the fact that the name of the cocktail sounds rigidly German, it remains one of the best drinks, served along the Apennines. Especially in the north part of Italy. And it is the same thing like going to Rome and not seeing the Pope if you have been to Italy and you haven’t tried an Aperol Spritz.
And again, like most of the things in Italy, its perfection lies in its simplicity. The bitter-sweet taste of the orange liqueur together with the sparkling character of the Prosecco create an incredibly refreshing combination. The cocktail could be made with Campari as well, but the pairing of the orange liqueur with the wine has no equivalent. Quite recently, we became convinced of this ourselves.
The preparation of Aperol Spritz is exceptionally easy. You mix 3 parts Prosecco with 2 parts Aperol, pour in a glass filled with a lot of ice and a slice of orange, add a straw and enjoy its refreshing effect in the hot summer nights.
