Astonishing. Such is the interior style which Ryan Korban creates. Dark, looking almost apocalyptic, it very much resembles Alexander Wang’s concept of the world, whose home we recently told you about. His designs are always simple, minimalistic and at the same time absorbing light – precisely what the main purpose of black is.
Only the best in the world of design are truly familiar with this colour. Exactly because it is universal, its real power could only be exposed by real connoisseurs.
And, believe it or not, black actually possesses hundreds of nuances, which could literally be played with in space. And this is precisely where Korban’s true power lies. He skilfully uses every shadow and reflection in order to create idyllic, dark luxury.
The fact that he is able to tame the might of black and white doesn’t at all mean that he cannot perform true interior miracles in colour, too. And once you see them, you will have to agree that they are marvellous.
Ryan Korban’s ideas about space are the result of his fascination with the impressionist expression of painters like Monet and with the provocative style of photographers like Helmut Newton. His projects create a truly unique style in the homes and boutiques of fashion designers, actors and other international celebrities.
