Spring Icons Selected by The Weekend is a collection, created with the idea about a complete male wardrobe with this season’s most important designs, chosen by one of the most popular music artists at the moment. The selection successfully merges items, borrowed from men’s sportswear, with the elegant silhouette of the classic male wardrobe in order to bring forth a contemporary viewpoint on the trendy spring styles.
“The time, spent in the selection of styles from Spring Icons for H&M, was truly enjoyable. I love mixing styles and combining sports bombers and hoodies with more classic designs like jackets and dress shirts. Each garment from the collection is absolutely natural and fresh, which is also my point of view about what the contemporary male wardrobe should look like”, says Abel Tesfaye, known as The Weekend.
The looks, which Spring Icons Selected by The Weekend presents, are inspired in the first place by street style – from the beige cotton bomber with a patch to the oversized tops with a hood and a pocket in black and dark green, worn with baggy T-shirts and classic creased trousers, given some contemporary treatment with a cropped style and laces on the waist. The outerwear is characterised by the lightness, inherent to spring – a classic biker jacket in faux leather, a thick shirt with a zip in faux suede, as well as a long double-breasted trench coat with a belt. Trousers are cropped for a contemporary look, and mandarin collar shirts introduce additional elegance.
The collection will be available at all H&M stores which offer menswear, as well as online, starting 2nd March.
